West Richland is getting a new $17 million dollar school that will open in 2019 but will not have a name, mascot, or it's own staff or students until 2021.

The reason is because it will be a temporary home for two other Richland elementary schools are being replaced as part of the city bond that passed in 2017.

The school is now called Elementary School #11 and will be located on Sunshine Avenue, near Keene Road and Belmont Boulevard, according to reports.

Elementary School #11 will resemble the new Jefferson Elementary School that opens this fall and was part of the 2013 voter-passed bond.

The building will be two-stories, about 65,000-square-foot, and will hold about 550 students.
