With the new distracted driving laws passed this month, one would expect (or just hope) collisions go down a bit.

We're off to a bad start. A 59 year-old Yakima woman had an object in her lap while she was dropping. The object fell, and she reached to pick it up. She looked up as she collided with the driver's side of an Oldsmobile. Her Mitsubishi then hit the front of a 2017 Ford truck. A Ford Fusion behind the truck was not able to veer out of the way and hit the truck.

The driver of the pickup and passenger were transported to a hospital.

If you drop something in your car, it can wait. Don't be the cause of an accident because of distracted driving.
