I started 97 Rock in October, 1994. Almost exactly 20 years later I've come home to rock you out 3-7 p.m. I was born and raised in Yakima and have been in radio for 31 years. I attended Washington State University, love "Breaking Bad," have a special place in my heart for Pearl Jam and am a proud member of the 12th Man.

Land of Oz — The Creepiest Damn Thing I’ve Ever Seen
Today I learned that a couple of North Carolina entrepreneurs opened a "Wizard of Oz"-themed amusement park that operated profitably for a decade ending in 1980. It still exists, albeit not as a theme park. The more I learn about this place the weirder it gets.
My Big Brother Was a Fighter Pilot — You’ll Never Guess His Call Sign
My older brother flew F-18 Hornets (pictured above) off aircraft carriers for 15 years in the Navy. He graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, got his wings in Beeville, Texas, and eventually made his way to the VFA-86 Sidewinders based at NAS JAX (Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida).

Semi-Truck Driver Polices the Police — Hero or Smart Ass? [VIDEO + POLL]
The title of the video I'm sharing is "Cop Lies His Ass Off." Now hang on a minute there. First, it's a trooper, not a cop (Illinois State Police, I believe). Second, the trooper correctly points out that police are allowed to use technology while driving and are allowed to speed. But the semi-truck driver is just calling the trooper on hypocrisy. Law enforcement acting as if they're abo

The fact that you think something is cool says a lot about you. If you were creating a dating profile, or you had a terminal disease and wanted your child to watch movies after you die to better understan

Watch this dash cam footage from Russia (skip to :20 if you have a short attention span). You won't regret it. But then watch it a second time for the surprise.
See the Canine Heroes of 9/11
Dutch photographer Charlotte Dumas took portraits of 15 dogs who helped find bodies in the rubble left after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. I recently stumbled upon a gallery with some of Dumas' photos. It was created by the New York Times Magazine to promote Dumas' 2011 book "Retrieved" about the dogs.
Watch Navy Jet With Broken Landing Gear Land on a Padded Stool
My brother flew Navy fighter jets and I'm always amazed and in awe of him for it. Those are incredible people defending our freedom from inside a cockpit. One such individual is Marine Capt. William Mahoney who found himself unable to land his Harrier jet shortly after takeoff.
