Beyonce, Seth Rogen, Donald Glover, and others have just been named as the cast in a new remake of Disney's The Lion King. The remake will be a live action film shot very similar to the remake of "The Jungle Book" in 2016. Beyonce has been cast as Nala, the love interest of the stories star Simba that is being voiced by rising star Donald Glover according to news reports. James Earl Jones will repeat his role as Mufasa the king of the jungle and Simba's father. Seth Rogen will play the part of the stinky warthog Pumbaa and Billy Eichner will play meerkat Timon.

Only a small clip of the intro was shown to a select crowd at the D23 Expo and the panel said it made a lot of people cry it was so powerful. The footage has been kept secret and I could not find a clip of it anywhere. The movie is scheduled to be released July 19th, 2019.

To give you an idea, here is the trailer for the remake of "The Jungle Book".
