Last month Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenberg was asked, "Whats next?" It was a simple answer: send people to Mars.

He is convinced that the first person to step foot on Mars is going to be in a Boeing rocket.

The only problem is Space X, Boeing's top rival when it comes to space innovation. Space X came along about a decade ago and threatened Boeing by offering discounted spaceflight. (Like anyone could afford that, even at the discounted price.)

Although, the media is somewhat kept out of the loop when it comes to Space X and Boeing's rivalry, there was a little bit of trash talk in 2014 when Boeing said the aim was for "substance" and not "pizzazz".

So, who's going to be the first ones to send us to Mars first? Boeing, or Space X?

I guess we'll find out come the next century.
