It seems that a young man in Pennsylvania decided to rain a golden shower on a few dozen laptops left in an unattended cart at Upper Allan Township Elementary. All of the laptops were damaged beyond repair causing losses of upwards of $36,000.

The real story here is that Apple won’t fix laptops that have been doused with #1, human or otherwise, even if the owner pays out of pocket for repairs because afflicted merchandise is considered a “biohazard.”

There are many scenarios in which drops of urine could make its way onto MacBooks, iPods, iPhones and the like and there should be a plan implemented for such occurrences. It can’t always be a purposeful act. We can’t be 100% sure but it’s a fair assumption that there are at least some Apple products getting accidentally tinkled on.

School officials still aren’t really sure why the kid decided to take an iPee on the computers. Maybe the kid was on his way to the restroom and the janitor put up one of those “closed for cleaning” signs (we hate that!), leaving him with the only other logical place to relieve himself but on a pile of very expensive computers. For the “crime”, the kid was charged with institutional vandalism and criminal mischief. While the tinkler was not arrested, his case was forwarded to the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department.

Good luck squirt. Pun intended.
