Walla Walla County authorities responded to a call from a hunter they had found a woman's body in a slough.

43-year-old Stacy Miller of Burbank was identified and her family notified. An ongoing investigation means details are sparse, but cold was a factor in her death. She was found less than a mile from her home.

The Tri-Cities is experiencing record cold temperatures this month and several people have died in recent years from walking long distances in remote areas and succumbing to the cold.

Do not take long walks outdoors in remote areas alone -- or at least without telling someone where you went and when to expect you back!
