Courtney Love can rest easy, as a rep for Foo Fighters' frontman and 'Sound City' documentarian Dave Grohl dismissed rampant rumors that the musician is planning to reunite Nirvana and install a new singer at the helm.

After Grohl, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and touring guitarist Pat Smear reunited to perform a new song with Paul McCartney as frontman at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy Benefit last Wednesday (Dec. 12) -- as well as on 'SNL' over the weekend -- rumors began to swirl about something more permanent, albeit with a different singer to replace the late, great Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994.

Grohl's rep dismissed the speculation, telling the New York Post that the rumors are "nonsense."

Love, Cobain's widow and one of Grohl's biggest nemeses (and probably his only real nemesis, since he's one of alt-rock's more beloved figures, and she tends to feud with anyone and everyone), has expressed her disapproval of the collaboration with the Beatles legend. If any sort of Nirvana exhumation were to continue, Grohl would likely face some rather vocal opposition.

What do you think? Would a Nirvana reunion with a new singer, be it Macca or someone else, be worth the price of admission? Tell us your thoughts in the comments field below!
