It is hard to believe that the Internet was around in 1985, but it was. I remember my first email was JamminJoni69 in 1986. I am not sure what I was thinking, but it was really cool no matter what. March 15 is the day the domain name suffix -- .com ("DOTCOM") -- was realized.

I worked for a computer company in Philadelphia from 1986-88. It was super-exciting that we all had email and didn't have to call each other anymore. "Dotcom" was commonly used then and we still use it today. There are so many others to chose from nowadays, but DOTCOM is the coolest. DOTNET is the second coolest and DOTORG comes in third.

I even use DOTCOM as slang. If my kids are driving me crazy I say "Zip It DOTCOM!"
