Earlier this week, Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward released a lengthy statement saying he would not be participating in a Black Sabbath reunion due to contract disagreements. Black Sabbath’s response? Remove all photos of Ward from the homepage collage and gallery section on the bands official website. I bet they unfriended him on Facebook too.

So, instead of a detailed comment, they perform (for lack of a better term) this a chicken s**t move? Sounds like something a high school girl would pull on an ex boyfriend. Take a look at the website and you can see how they have overlapped images to make sure Ward is not visible. How lame.

Black Sabbath will perform a hometown concert in Birmingham, England Saturday night in preparation for the Download Festival at Donington next month. A replacement drummer for the upcoming gigs will be in place, but the band is yet to reveal their identity.

This weekend Columbia Motor Speedway in Hermiston Oregon welcomes the Rolling Thunder Big Rigs. Yep semi-trucks racing around the oval in Hermiston. Rolling Thunder is the only U.S. based semi racing organization. Also this weekend enjoy the mini stocks, super minis and super streets.

Tri-City Dust Devil fans heard a familiar name last month when the Seattle Seahawks drafted Quarterback Russell Wilson out of the University of Wisconsin 75th Overall. Wilson had a short stint in Pasco in 2010 playing Second Base in 32 games for the Dust Devils. Now the Heisman Trophy candidate, who led the Badgers to a Rose Bowl birth against Oregon this past season, is in the running to be the starting QB for the Seattle Seahawks.

Even though The Seahawks went out and signed former Green Bay Packer Matt Flynn to a three-year, $26 million contract, Head Coach Pete Carroll has said that Wilson is “in competition” for the starting job with Flynn and Tarvaris Jackson:

He’s showed us enough. He’s in the competition. And that is going to tax us, as you know. It was already going to be taxing with two. But he’s shown us enough that we need to see where he fits in with these guys.

Carroll said deciding on a starting quarterback will be a long process.

It’s going to take us a long time to do this. It’s going to be frustrating for [the media]. You’re going to keep asking and want to know. I’m just going to be more patient than you can imagine as we go through this process, and we’ll just figure it out when we do.

The 2012/2013 NFL season is still months away, but the Tri-City Dust Devils will be kicking off their season on June 15th against the Everett Aquasox. Get out to GESA Stadium this year, you may not only be watching future Major League Baseball players.

The 2002 Richland High Grad had success in college at Arizona State University, won a gold medal at the 2004 World University Baseball Championship. Buck was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2002, but opted out to play and attend college. He was drafted again in 2005 by the Oakland Athletics and made his professional baseball debut for the Vancouver Canadians against the Tri-City Dust Devils. Buck didn’t dissapoint his hometown fans, hitting a 3 run HR in just his 3rd at bat. With just 36 at-bats with the Canadians, and quickly moving up through the A’s organization, Buck landed on Oakland’s MLB roster just two seasons later, making his debut against the Seattle Mariners. Buck is currently in the Houston Astros organization.

As of Friday, Mark Zuckerberg is officially in a relationship with everyone. Facebook’s IPO became available Thursday with shares now being traded for about $43 a piece. And, of course, the occasion was marked with a status update by the founder himself.

It’s been talked about for years and now it’s real. Zuckerberg has “hacked the ‘DAQ” and Facebook has gone public. And, they made $16 billion with the IPO. (Google only made $1.67 billion when it went public in 2004, to give you some perspective.) The social media site is now worth more than Bank Of America and Nike, combined.

The initial stock was sold to select investors on Thursday for a price of $38 a share, but market enthusiasm had them up over $40 when Zuckerberg rang the NASDAQ bell remotely on Friday morning. At this point, the company could end up raising about $18.4 billion if it utilizes an overallotment option reserved to satisfy additional demand for shares.

All of this is investment mumbo-jumbo that means Facebook is worth a lot of money and Zuckerberg is worth a lot more. But, the father of modern social media networking kept it simple and real and very much a sign of the times with a very telling status update on his own Facebook timeline. All he did was list a company on NASDAQ. Like anyone else would. His comment? “This is a pretty awesome hack.”

This morning, Zuckerberg rang the NASDAQ bell remotely from Facebook’s California headquarters.

It seems as though Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp becomes a bigger attraction by the year, not just for the fans and those willing to shell out for the experience, but for those in the industry willing to serve as instructors.

The annual event, now in its 15th year, will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Oct. 10-14, with KISS’ Gene Simmons, Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde and ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach leading the way.

Simmons stated of his involvement, “I can’t wait to reveal the secrets of becoming a rock star. Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp is a grueling, military-style musical training process. And I’m just the guy to be your sergeant. Now drop and give me twenty.”

Campers of all talents and skill levels will get to learn from Simmons, Neil, Wylde and Bach among others, with the chance to write and record an original song and jam nightly with legendary rockers. Because they probably shouldn’t pour a Brass Monkey out for him, New York state senators have adopted a resolution to pause their proceedings in honor of Brooklyn’s own Adam “MCA” Yauch. The Beastie Boy passed away on May 4, and the representatives are repping him and the Beasties by way of legislation. One line observes, “They can’t, they don’t, they won’t stop changing the face of hip-hop, of music, and of our culture.”

As Spin has the word, state resolution J4637-2011 was penned by state senator Daniel Squadron of the 25th district, which includes Brooklyn Heights, where Yauch grew up. The resolution celebrates his and the Beasties’ contributions to New York culture in a boisterous blend of political legalese and hip-hop hagiography:

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay tribute to those individuals whose commitment and creative talents have contributed to the entertainment and cultural enrichment of their community and the entire State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Adam Yauch, also known as MCA, the rapper, musician, activist, film director and founder of the pioneering New York hip-hop group the Beastie Boys, died on Friday, May 4, 2012, in Manhattan at age 47;and

WHEREAS, Adam Nathaniel Yauch was born on August 5, 1964, and raised in Brooklyn Heights; he was the son of Frances Yauch, a social worker, and Noel Yauch, an architect and painter, and attended Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood; and

WHEREAS, Adam Yauch taught himself the bass guitar while growing up and joined the Beastie Boys, originally a hardcore punk outfit, playing his first show with the group when he was just 17 years old in 1981; and

WHEREAS, The Beastie Boys became well-known in the innovative music scene in Manhattan’s East Village and Lower East Side with a sound and a style all their own; and

WHEREAS, The album “Licensed to Ill” was the first hip-hop album to top the Billboard chart; and

WHEREAS, The music and message of the Beastie Boys evolved over the years, but they can’t, they don’t, they won’t stop changing the face of hip-hop, of music, and of our culture; and

WHEREAS, The Beastie Boys exemplified New York through a period in which grassroots creativity and a community of iconoclastic artists helped redefine and rejuvenate a city on the ropes, with iconic imagery from Brooklyn to Ludlow Street; and

WHEREAS, Having consistently produced multi-million selling albums and receiving Grammy awards, in April 2012 the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Adam Yauch was unable to attend due to deteriorating health; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his contributions to music, Adam Yauch was an activist and founder of the Milarepa Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness about abuses in Tibet and against Tibetans, and later in life became a successful filmmaker, founding Oscilloscope Laboratories, an independent film distribution company; and

WHEREAS, A man of colossal talent and charisma, Adam Yauch is survived by his wife, Dechen Wengdu, and their daughter, Losel; he will be missed by his family, his fans and all who knew him; his dedication to his music, his activism, and his heritage leaves an indelible legacy of inspiration for all other artists; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to mourn the death of famed rapper and activist Adam “MCA” Yauch; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the family of Adam Yauch.

“It’s a good size, really,” iPhone owners have told Apple. “It’s OK that it’s small. It’s more about how you use it,” they added reassuringly. But the insecure company isn’t having any of it. It’s paying attention to those screen enhancement spam emails and listening to those late-night “marital aid” radio commercials. And it’s obsessed with getting bigger.

That’s according to The Wall Street Journal, which reports Apple will be upping its 3.5-inch screen size to something close to a full 4 inches. The new phone, which is rumored to be going into production in June, will probably come out in the fall.

Apple apparently feels the need to get bigger because Samsung says its Samsung Galaxy S II will be swinging a 4.8-inch screen. And they say once you go Samsung, you don’t give a damn (about the competition), son.

We haven’t had many complaints about our 3.5 inches. The ladies tell us that it’s girth that matters.

3 Inches of Blood are among the acts saluting the late Ronnie James Dio this week on the two-year anniversary of his tragic death with their new lyric video for ‘Look Out.’

The clip kicks off with blistering guitar and drums as the camera zooms in on the top of a mountain where a likeness of Dio is overlooking a fiery pit. The pit then serves as the backdrop for the lyrics that pop up throughout the clip.

Singer Cam Pipes says, “It was hard to find the right words for a song honoring Ronnie James Dio, but I hope it is regarded as a fitting tribute to a legendary figure. His impact on the metal community will last forever, and though he may have been small in stature, his contribution to the music scene is larger than most will ever achieve.”

Pipes does a good job of representing for the rock icon, with his vocals soaring right up into the vocal range that Dio was known for. ‘Look Out’ is featured on 3 Inches of Blood’s latest album, ‘Long Live Heavy Metal,’ and follows their recent video for ‘Metal Woman.’

The group is currently on the road in Europe, but will return to the U.S. in June for shows with Municipal Waste and Black Tusk.

Let’s say you’re at your local lumber yard, buying wood for some sort of home improvement project. You’re feeling like quite a man, because you’re about to do some work with your hands. In walks a woman, completely nude. Bonus, right? Maybe not so much.

When that exact scenario played out in Curtis Lumber in Ballston, NY on Tuesday, thanks to 49-year old exhibitionist Barbara Lafleur, it was just a really awkward among the two-by-fours.

“No one wanted to say much to her,” Curtis Lumber manager Bob Eakin explained. “It’s not a situation you want to be involved in.”

So, having laid the seeds for many jokes involving the word “wood,” but perhaps not getting the desired reaction from Curtis Lumber’s employees and patrons, Lafleur moved on to a nearby ice cream shop. Again her nudity was not embraced, and she was quickly given the boot by the store’s manager.

That’s about when she was arrested and charged with misdemeanor public lewdness, a crime that could net her up to 90 days in jail. According to LaFleuer, she was just exercising her right to “self-expression.”

We’re going to have to take Ballston community and police force to task for their treatment of LaFleuer. Yes, 49-year old boobies aren’t our favorite kind, but with the harsh treatment of this Lady Godiva wannabe, they have diminished the chances we will ever randomly encounter good nudity during a trip to the lumber yard.

Which makes less likely we will ever build that deck we like to talk about.

There’s another rad show going down this Saturday at Ray’s Golden Lion in Richland. Come party with local band Elm & Olympia and stay for Orlando’s own The Supervillains.

Its been a few months since I’ve have seen Elm & Olympia, but no joke, the doods sound better each time I see them live. Great, fun band self described as “funk-laced indie rock for people who like to get down”. Goes hand and hand with The Supervillains, who are definitely no stranger to Ray’s Golden Lion. Dom, Skart, and the crew are always ready to put on a killer performance!

Following the news last week of several new shows added, things seem to have gone south for Van Halen since then. Without much explanation, the legendary rock band just announced that they’ll be postponing all remaining tour dates after their June 26 show in New Orleans, La. With over 30 dates being postponed, the dates impacted start on July 7 in Uncasville, Conn. and span through a Sept. 25 gig in Milwaukee.

According to Pollstar, the band has already removed all of the dates from their website. However as of right now, the shows are only being postponed, hinting that they will be rescheduled at a later date.

Markets affected by the postponements include: Philadelphia, Baltimore,  Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Memphis, Spokane, Reno, Fresno and Wichita, just to name a few.

No particular reason has been given for the postponements, yet Rolling Stone reports that sources say the bandmembers “hate each other” and that they are “arguing like mad.”

Van Halen still have active tour dates running through May and June that have not been impacted by this turn of events, check out all the dates below including the postponed ones.

Van Halen are currently touring in support of ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ their first album with singer David Lee Roth since ’1984.’

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has become one of the largest festivals in the US. In 2012 three day festival was increased to include two full weekends in April and drew its biggest crowds since its inception in 1999 with reports of 80,000+ people attending each day, roughly 250,000 each weekend. With that being said, weekend 1 advance sale for 2013 is already sold out!

What bands are playing at Coachella 2013? No one knows for sure as the lineups won’t even be officially announced until next year, yet people are more than willing to shell out $349 per ticket for general admission tickets. As of right now there are still VIP tickets available for $799.

The presale began this morning at 10am and by 11:55am all GA advance passes for weekend 1 were sold out. Crazy. Weekend 2 passes are still available at Coachella.com and by the looks of things, this presale won’t last until the scheduled end date of Thursday, May 24th.

If you are thinking about wanting to maybe, possibly, probably go….you might want to get. your. tickets. NOW! A similar thing happened this past year with the presale and when the tickets went on sale to the general public, all GA passes for weekend 1 were sold out in less than 2 hours.

Even if you can’t drop the $349 or $799 right now? Check out the payment plan option where you drop a minimum of a 20% down payment with 7 additional monthly payments through January 2013 (or until you pay in full).

It really does seem like Slash is everywhere, no matter what the folks behind Comedy Central’s ‘South Park‘ try to tell you. The guitarist’s latest promotional effort leading up to next Tuesday’s (May 22) ‘Apocalyptic Love’ album release is his involvement with Walmart’s ‘Soundcheck‘ Series.

The guitarist and his band, featuring Myles Kennedy on vocals, took shot a six-song set that also included a brief interview about the new record. Slash says of the upcoming disc, “What’s really cool about this record is that it’s live in the moment. What you’re hearing is what actually happened at the time we were playing the song and there not like a lot of overdubs, so there’s a kind of energy that comes along with that.”

He then showed off exactly how that energy comes across with performances of the new single ‘You’re a Lie’ and the groove-heavy possible future release, ‘Standing in the Sun.’ The guitarist says that he feels the best way to do things is to approach it like how you would do them live, and because of that ‘Apocalyptic Love’ has a more spontaneous feel.

Other songs performed during the ‘Soundcheck’ session included three cuts from his earlier self-titled solo record — ‘Ghost,’ ‘Back From Cali,’ and ‘Starlight,’ — and an oldie but a goodie, ‘Mean Bone,’ dating back to his Slash’s Snakepit days.

We the jury find these strippers guilty of dancing to ‘Dr. Feelgood’ one too many times and killing a dude. Both are punishable by the permanent removal of all body glitter.

According to a report made by the El Paso County sheriff’s office, 67-year-old Robert Gene White was last seen alive getting a lap dance from some dancers (big spender!) at the Red Parrot strip club. The manager of the club told police that when it came time for White to pay the dancers he was unresponsive. That trick works?!?

The same report states that employees tried to perform CPR on White, and when that didn’t work, they called emergency responders. He was then transported to a local hospital where it appears he died of natural causes. That was the name of one of the strippers — Natural Causes.

In honor of our fallen brother, we are asking strippers everywhere to dance at half mast on the poll for the rest of the week.

Disturbed may be on hiatus for an unspecified period of time, but vocalist David Draiman is set to return with an industrial rock project, for which he has just unveiled a whole slew of details via Twitter.

It’s amazing that Draiman can even find time to work on a new project with the feverish amount of interaction the vocalist engages in on his Twitter page. The Disturbed frontman, whose communication with fans used to be solely through his rhythmic vocal assault and trademark grunts, is now using the social networking site to get his voice out to the public, 140 characters at a time.

On any given day you can find Draiman’s lengthy thoughts on everything from his favorite albums to the complexities of the Trayvon Martin case. The singer is also pretty good about responding to Tweets from fans, a few of his recent answers have filled in the blanks on the status of his previously announced project with former Filter axeman Geno Lenardo. Draiman has described the project as being in the vain of Nine Inch Nails and Ministry.

During a recent series of Tweets, it was revealed that a lot of work has been going into the project and they are “almost ready to record” a full album. Draiman also made mention of a book he has in the works and hopes both projects will surface “around the same time.” Tracking for the new project is set to begin May 31 and to the question of when Disturbed will be recording again, the vocalist has a much less specific, saying “not anytime soon.”
