A fired Walmart employee was just awarded 31 million dollars in damages. She was reportedly was wrongly fired for reporting "safety concerns about co-workers dispensing prescriptions" after being an employee for 13 years. After addressing the concerns, she was fired for loosing a key and Walmart still states they did nothing wrong. A Walmart spokesperson said that "McPadden had been disciplined before and the lost key led to her dismissal".

The jury said they awarded the judgment "based on gender discrimination claims". Walmart says they will move to have another judge review the case and say "facts do not support the verdict"
