Geraldo Rivera has been on television for decades and doesn't seem to age a day. Although the long-time television news reporter tries hard to stay hip/cool/relevant, getting buck naked and jumping on the selfie photo Twitter trend after a night of Tequila is a god awful idea.

After working late on a piece about the Trayvon Martin case, Rivera was at home with 'no one to talk to' and wasn't ready to call it quits on the day. He popped a bottle of tequila that he had recently received for his 70th birthday and as he was unwinding, Rivera began looking through photos on his phone. He came across one he had taken in the bathroom earlier in the day and felt proud enough of it to share it with the world. The internet backlash was swift after he posted the nearly nude photo with the caption “70 is the new 50”.

Explaining the incident to the Scott & Todd Morning Show, Rivera said:

It was 2:30 a.m., and I said, ‘Damn it, I like that picture.’ I learned how to use Twitter a couple weeks ago, and there it was. Then I woke up, and it was my 18-year-old who was the first I had heard about it. And she had written me in call caps, ‘TAKE THAT TWITTER DOWN RIGHT NOW!’ It seemed like a great idea at the time.

Fox asked Rivera to take down the tweet but has not reprimanded him for sharing the candid photo.

I wouldn't mind being that kind of physical condition at the age of 70. Hell, Rivera is in better shape than I am at 28! With that being said, that photo is way to close to showing your junk, bro. No one needs to see that.

Let's just hope Rivera doesn't figure out how to use Instagram next.
