Gibbs Technology is the leader in creating state-of-the-art vehicles capable of cruising on land AND in water. The Michigan based company has already successfully created a couple of these vehicles, which are called amphibians, with plans to release them for consumers soon. The line up of Gibbs Amphibians includes:

The Aquada - A Mazda Miata-esque car that can cruise on land at over 100mph and plane on water at over 30mph

The Humdinga - Which has a Hummer look to it (hence the name) and is used to access remote and hostile terrain while comfortably transporting five people

The Quadski - A 4-wheeler/Jet Ski hybrid for an even more practical and extreme use.

Just recently Gibbs released a video showing off the the largest High Speed Amphibian (HSA) on the market called The Phibian. Although the previous HSA vehicles that Gibb released look to be aimed at a regular consumer, The Phibian resembles something you would see being used by the Coast Guard. Especially with the video being shot in Washington DC, it definitely gives off an anti-terrorism, "AMERICAAA...F**CK YEAH" feel.

Come to think of it, maybe that dood I saw driving his car the other day while wearing a life jacket was actually cooler than I thought, instead of a random crazy person. Do you think we will have HSA races in the near future, similar to a Triathlon? Could definitely see that with the Quadski.
