How to Pick Up Women on Online Dating Sites (From an Expert)
A few years ago a friend of mine created a profile for me on "plentyoffish.com" and by now I'm a bit of an expert. I don't want to brag, but I'm like the Don Juan of digital. I've been breaking hearts since AOL. Here are my top 10 tips for online dating:
Ask relevant questions about stuff you see on their profile to show your depth and that you would be able to carry on a real conversation and are interested in them as people.
Pick up lines and swagger appeal to some women if that's their sense of humor, but it's a turn off for MOST.
Save questions about height, kids, and sexual preferences for a real conversation in person. Asking about these via online chats is immature (that's being kind).
Don't do it immediately, but you've got to express interest in meeting up quickly or you'll lose their attention. They didn't join an online dating service for the conversation.
Don't try to look "hot" in your profile pics, it will attract the wrong kind of attention. Instead, post an "attractive" photo as your featured image, then also add a classy photo (dressed up for a wedding or an awards ceremony), and a goofy or fun photo, and a photo of you doing your hobby.
If you're OK looking and have a decent job, it doesn't really matter what your profile says, but a lot of women decide if you're worth a date by that profile. Make it funny. Have someone else write it if you're not funny.
No one wants to date someone who's unemployed.
Want to show off your abs? Women will think you're a gym rat. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't, but is that what you want them to think? If you share a hunting pic women will assume you're a redneck. That's totally not fair, but it's the truth.
There's no "secret" or "trick" to online dating. Don't try to be something you're not. It will either not work or will backfire. Be relaxed, be yourself, and treat it like traditional socializing/flirting.
Do you want a GUARANTEED failure? To be ignored EVERY SINGLE TIME! Then message people "Hey there." If you don't understand why, you may be too stupid to date online.
