A man wanted in connection with the Christmas Eve murder of a 21-year-old woman turned himself into authorities, then was arrested and charged.

Around 11:20pm Christmas Eve,  Kennewick police were alerted to a report of a woman who had been pushed out of a vehicle near 609 North Tweedt St. Upon arrival, police found 21-year-old Luisa Garcia.

She was suffering from wounds consistent with having been shot. She was rushed to TRIOS Southridge ER, but was pronounced dead. Authorities issued a bulletin with the suspect, 21-year-old Francisco Javier Munoz Quintero, as well as a picture of his vehicle.

Monday, police said Quintero turned himself into authorities at the Benton County Jail around 6pm Sunday night. As he was being questioned, police found his car, and towed it for investigative purposes. Following an inspection, and the interview, Quintero was booked into the jail on 2nd Degree Murder charges.

The investigation continues.
