As Linkin Park and Incubus join forces to co-headline the 2012 Honda Civic Tour, their two respective singers — Chester Bennington and Brandon Boyd — recently sat down together to talk about the upcoming trek and what fans can expect.

In a video interview with Fuse TV (watch below), Bennington offered his take on the trek, saying, “It’s about bringing two established acts who’ve headlined their own tours together under one roof.”

Regarding why the two California bred bands have never teamed up to tour together in the past, Brandon Boyd had this to say, “We’ve both been so in our own little bubbles, floating around the rock and roll universe so to speak, but it’s really interesting and it seems strange now that our bands haven’t toured together already.”

While the show promises full headlining sets from each of the proven headliners, they’re hoping that the dedicated fanbase of each band will cross sides. Bennington explained, “Obviously we’re bringing our fans together and turning some fans on to Incubus, and they can turn some fans onto Linkin Park.”

Linkin Park’s new disc ‘Living Things’ is due out June 26, so fans headed out to any of the Honda Civic dates will likely get to experience a lot of the album in a live environment for the first time. If you haven’t heard the first single ‘Burn It Down’ yet, you can check it out here.

The Honda Civic tour kicks off at the beginning of August in Bristow, Va. and runs into the start of September, wrapping up on Sept. 10 in San Diego, Calif. Check out all the dates here and watch the video clip of Chester and Brandon on Fuse TV below.
