The sweat, motor oil, and beer brand of alt-country continues spreading across the country, and this track from the Portland, Ore., four-piece puts their Great Northwestern spin on heartbroken testosterone rock. Fans of Lucero and Drive-By Tuckers are advised to check this track out, especially if they like an extra dollop of grunge revivalism with their Neil Young and Crazy Horse-style twang. Even with the song’s featured pedal steel guitar rocking away, check out that chorus: the dream of the ’90s is indeed alive (and “s— kickin’”) in Portland.
