Some folks have them up the day after Thanksgiving. Some earlier, some later, but this time of year one of the things we love is buying fresh Christmas trees!

If you've got your tree up already, you may have noticed that it's a bit more spendy this year. It turns out, there is a nation wide Christmas tree shortage! Around 8 million less trees were harvested this year. During the last recession farmers planted fewer trees. to save money, leaving them with less trees to harvest.

It may seem better to buy a fake tree and use it every year, but that could lend to even more shortages since farmers plant based on demand for trees.

Take a look at the full story below, and see if you maybe you want to still buy fresh, or go pre-planted or fake. Happy tree shopping!
