Software engineer Matt Watkins is in a Casper, Wyoming, hospital with a broken clavicle after a motorcycle crash on Saturday. He was looking for a mine.

The Pasco mayor and long-time city council member was on a motorcycle scavenger hunt. He needed to take a selfie in front of a mine opening.

Going a safe speed around a corner on a gravel road, a sheep ran left, then right, and never actually got out of the way. His motorcycle hit it hard, killing the sheep, messing up the bike, and sending Watkins flying.

He's stuck in the hospital while his clavicle heals for a week. His mom and dad are there helping him and he's stuck for now. Fellow councilmembers are covering for him in the meantime.
