Paul Wulff is gone from Washington State University.

Athletic director Bill Moos made the announcement today, according to the Tri-City Herald.

Wulff won only 9 games in four years and lost 40. That is the most in four years for one coach in Pac-12 history, which dates back to the league's  origins in 1916. It is also a record for the Cougars.

According to SWX, Wulff's four wins this season were an improvement over last year.

The decision was made after the loss to University of Washington.

The four wins were an improvement over his previous seasons but not enough to convince Moos to keep him on board to finish the rebuilding job he started four years ago.
