According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, a small airplane made an emergency landing on a Highway 11 Thursday afternoon. Oregon State Police said the plane landed safely around 1 p.m. on a stretch of highway in Athena near mile post 17.

Highway 11 was closed for about an hour until the plane was able to take off. Sgt. John Reitz of the Athena Police Department said "He cleared ice from the fuel lines and took off again." No injuries were reported.
