Seattle has become the new Silicon Valley, and Portland wants in on the action. In fact, the No. 1 destination for professionals who left California in 2016 was to the Portland area. To keep that trend going, Portland's mayor is courting tech businesses... by inviting them to test driverless vehicles on his streets!

Oregon's state government isn't sure it likes the idea, but Portland officials successfully killed a bill that would have interfered with their plans.
