Richland School District is exploring the possibility of letting students check out Chromebooks and taking them home. The district sent over 10,000 emails to parents asking them to implore the possibility.

The district views computers as tools that would help expand the learning horizon for students. While I don't disagree, some students wouldn't benefit from computers as much as you would think. Blocking websites that host online games is only so fool-proof. Many kids know how to proxy or just use foreign websites.

I went to online high school for a year, and let's just say I spent a good while trying to figure out if "Big Sausage Pizza" was real...
