Rory McIlroy Earns No. 1 Spot

Yesterday in Florida a new No. 1 was crowned in the world golf rankings, and at the age of 22 it only makes my life seem more miserable. Rory McIlroy makes it look easy on the golf course which is a skill a lot of us wish we had.

As Tiger Woods puts it "Consistency is the key to becoming No. 1 and Rory has been very consistent recently." In the past 11 tournaments Rory has played in he has finished outside the Top 5 only once and that was an 11th place finish in Dubai last year at the Dubai World Championship. He's had 2 wins and 4 runner up spots... Yep I guess that's consistent.

Rory is off to New York for a few days with his family and to spend time with his girlfriend, former No. 1 Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki before heading back to Florida to get ready for his first tournament as the No. 1 player in the world at the World Golf Championship - Cadillac Championship at the Doral Golf Resort in Miami Florida.
