Bellevue Police along with other law enforcement shut down a website popular with sex workers and their johns this month after it was found human traffickers were using it.

Women kidnapped from other countries and brought here to work as sex slaves were marketed on the website, resulting in a sting operation.

Legal, adult women who voluntarily work as prostitutes are furious the website was shut down after the sting. They are claiming it promotes safety.

Apparently the secret site allowed sex workers to vett their clients, giving them more control of the situations they found themselves in with johns. In return, johns had more "consumer rights" in the illegal activity.

This method increased safety and decreased the spread of disease, proponents said. They took to social media saying it was none of Bellevue's business what "two consenting adults did in private."

Apparently slavery and human trafficking was less of a concern.
