Sunnyside Woman Hit in Leg with Bullet…and It Bounced Off!

An unidentified woman from Sunnyside had a 24 round shoot out outside her home. One bullet crashed through her wall, hit her leg...and then bounced off without breaking the skin. No kidding!

Police first got a call saying there had been shooting outside and that a woman had been struck by a bullet according to news reports. Police think that there were two shooters that fired the 24 rounds directly at 2 houses. The shooters arrived on foot, then fired at the houses, and then ran away according to the police statement. A k-9 officer tried to track down the suspects but did not find them. Miraculously the woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and immediately released because the bullet did not penetrate the skin.

This is the third shooting in Sunnyside since May and police think they may be related. They know the other two shootings were gang related but the investigation is still early on the third. Police say there is no known motive for the third shooting and no further information will be released because the investigation is active.
