Matthias Steiner, the defending Gold Medalist in Men's Weightlifting, failed to finish today's competition after dropping 432 pounds on his head during his 'snatch' lift...huhuhuh...snaaatch.

I've been totally addicted to watching the summer Olympics. A few weekends ago we were boating out on the Snake River and I spotted these dudes wakesurfing.

There has already been one World Record broken by a blind Korean archer and the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 London Summer Olympics hasn't even started. Coming up today at 1pm locally, the 4 hour Olympic Opening Ceremony will officially kick off the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Vertical Dance, a British pole-dancing company, is petitioning the International Olympic Committee to get their sport recognized as a test event for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. According to the petition, which has so far garnered about 6,000 signatures, "Over 50 countries worldwide take part in lessons, workshops, conventions, expose, competitions and teacher training."
