Russian Snowboarder Alexei Sobolev Supports Pussy Riot (Sort Of)

After my post last night about Bob Costas name dropping Pussy Riot during the opening broadcast of the Sochi 2014 Olympics, I realized that I should also give you some sort of context as to why it happened. It wasn't just Costas going all willy-nilly and standing atop his soapbox (yet). Ol' Bobby mentioned the all female punk collective while referring to Russian snowboarder Alexei Sobolev.

An incredibly bright light followed by a glass shattering boom caused a bit of panic on Thursday evening as a meteorite exploded over Russia. Female Russian Punk Rockers, Pussy Riot, Face 7 Years in Prison for Hooliganism

If the collective's name isn't bold enough to catch your attention, maybe their antics will. Back in February Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Yekaterina Samutsevich of the collective Pussy Riot were arrested after performing their song 'Holy S**t', which is considered a 'punk prayer', on the altar at Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral as a protest against the Orthodox Christian church's alleged support for Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Now the ladies face up to seven years in jail, being charged with hooliganism.

Linkin Park Performs at “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” World Premiere [VIDEO]

Linkin Park has...evolved? I don't what to call it, but they are definitely not the same band today as they were when 'Hybrid Theory' came out. Their newest album, 'A Thousand Suns' was met with mixed reviews by a lot of critics (even fans) and it definitely is missing any kind of 'rock' feel to it.

The new song is called 'Iridescent'. Check out footage of their performance in Moscow at the world premiere of the movie.
