A teenager in Ellensburg stole a truck a led police on a long chase with the owner in the back bed of that truck. Police originally got a call from the owner saying his truck was stolen around 9pm on Saturday night according to news reports. The same man called police about 20 minutes later saying he had found the truck at an intersection and jumped into the bed. He tried to get the teen to stop but instead lead police on a long chase through town and onto Interstate 90.

The truck shortly stopped around Thorpe Highway to let the man out of the truck and then he sped away with police still in chase. Police eventually pulled the teen over on I-90 and he was booked into Yakima Juvenile Detention Facility on charges of vehicle theft, eluding police, kidnapping, driving under the influence and having no valid driver’s license.
