Washington State University’s first game of the 2012-2013 season did not go as planned.

On Aug. 30, Washington State faced off against Brigham Young University in what was expected to be something special with Wazzu’s new coach Mike Leach.

Leach may be the biggest hire in the program’s history and there’s been a lot of hype. Anticipations are high.

BYU’s defense was ranked in the top 15 last year. Brigham Young aggressively defended and built an early lead.

Wazzu’s new quarter back will be Jeff Tuel. He came out as expected, but his tenth pass was intercepted. From then on, it seemed Tuel couldn’t sustain. Leach said, “Anytime we were about to ignite or catch fire, something negative would happen.”

In the first half of the game, BYU gained 24 points. The night ended with a score of 30-6.
