For years, the Tri-City Americans saluted the nuclear heritage of the Mid-Columbia by skating in wildly-colored nuclear-themed jerseys for "Nuclear Night." Now, it's gone up to a whole new level! (Pictured is one of the Americans Nuclear Night jerseys).

Friday, the Americans announced exciting plans to honor our nation's military personnel with Military Appreciation Night. Here's more from the Americans:

Formerly known as Nuclear Night, the Americans will be wearing limited-edition military-themed jerseys in honor of those who have served, with all jersey’s being auctioned off following the game on the Americans’ official auction website, AmsHockeyAuctions.com.

Camp Patriot will also be integrated throughout the concourse, as they will be holding a joint silent auction with the Americans behind Section J.  Among the items available, Camp Patriot will be auctioning off an autographed football, signed by Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett. Funds raised from jersey and silent auction sales will benefit Camp Patriot and the Americans Player’s Continuing Education Fund.
The night will also welcome a special guest, Rich Peters, a member of Seal Team 6, that will participate in a ceremonial puck drop and be on the concourse throughout the game. Camp Patriot will also have a table in Section C with more information about their organization.

The game will be presented by CH2M, KEPR-TV and the Tri-City Herald. The first 1,000 fans in the building will receive the first set of 2015-16 Americans Trading Cards, thanks to Washington Army National Guard.

In honor of Military Appreciation, Veterans and Active Military personnel can attend the game for only $14, simply by showing their Active Military or Veteran ID card at the Toyota Center Box Office.

It’s also a Tri-City Herald Family Friday, presented by KEPR-TV, clip out the coupon in Thursday or Friday’s edition of the Tri-City Herald or online at TriCityHerald.com to receive 4 tickets for just $60! And, if you have a Group of 10 or more going to the game, you can save money by contacting the Americans’ office at (509) 736-0606 and arranging a Group Night.
