The Brick Saloon was established in 1889 in the sleepy little town of Roslyn. The bar has a colorful history. Early Roslyn was a coal mining town or a company town with most residents working for the Northern Pacific Coal Company.

The Brick is called the 'Brick' because it is constructed using 45,000 bricks has a jail in the building and is billed as the as the oldest continuously operating tavern in the state of Washington. There is also a fully functioning running water spittoon. I know this because I actually visited the Brick a few years ago!

Side note: if you watched the 1990's TV show Northern Exposure the Brick was featured in several episodes!
