My brother flew Navy fighter jets and I'm always amazed and in awe of him for it. Those are incredible people defending our freedom from inside a cockpit. One such individual is Marine Capt. William Mahoney who found himself unable to land his Harrier jet shortly after takeoff.

Watch the video below. Mahoney realized his front landing gear were malfunctioning shortly after takeoff.

Lucky for him, his jet was a Harrier -- one of those machines that can rotate their jets to land vertically. But you still need front wheels!

He notifies the control tower and the support crew brings out a padded stool that is specifically designed for this purpose!
