I had a terrible experience with a piercing gun at a shop in the mall. I'll never take my children there. Instead, I take them to tattoo parlors. Here's why:

A piercing gun made my skin stick to the back of the earring. It got infected really bad so I had to let it close.

I used to work at Monarch Tattoo so when I wanted new piercings I asked questions about the piercing guns at the mall. The experts told me those shops only clean the back of your ear. Professionals use a hollow needle, pierce with a needle, then insert earring.
