Today from noon until around 4 pm, you can try to control the new surgery robot at an open house event at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco.

The open house is only today from 12 noon until 4 pm today at 520 N. 4th Ave. The event starts with a presentation and then the attendees can try their hand at controlling the robot, according to reports.

Lourdes actually has two different surgery robots at their Pasco location. Only one of the two are the new advanced Xi model, and it is the only one of its kind in the local area.

The robot is controlled by an operator at a nearby control console with screens. The camera's help the surgeon see better then with the naked eye, and the robot arms have better range of motion then the normal human hand.
