It’s been a big year for Halestorm, with their latest album ‘The Strange Case Of…‘ climbing the charts and being the first female fronted rock band ever to take the No. 1 spot on the Active Rock airplay chart with their single ‘Love Bites (So Do I).’ Now the band will be launching a headlining tour beginning in November.

Metallica already have concerts scheduled for Friday (Aug. 24) and Saturday (Aug. 25) at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, to film their upcoming 3D movie. Now, they’ve added a special show on Monday, Aug. 27 to shoot the final live portion of the film.

Zakk Wylde, founder of Black Label Society, will host a new weekly sports talk series on SiriusXM. ‘Wylde on Sports’ will debut Sept. 4 and air every Tuesday for six weeks on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. The co-host will be Ken Thomson, Wylde’s brother-in-law and a veteran sports talk host.

Nonpoint are hitting the road for a late summer / early fall tour, and have added a number of dates to their itinerary. The initial dates include supporting acts Eye Empire and Surrender The Fall.   Staind vocalist Aaron Lewis will host a charity golf tournament in Bernardson, Mass., on Saturday, Aug. 11. The inaugural Aaron Lewis Invitational Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club. Metallica’s eight-concert run in Mexico City has begun at the Palacia de los Deportes. A video of the ‘best effects’ during the opening show on Saturday, July 28 is now available (watch below). The nine minute clip includes shots of various pyro and lighting effects, including what appeared to be stagehands catching on fire.
