The Washington Supreme Court recently decided carrying kitchen knives is not covered by the 2nd Amendment's Right to Bear Arms.

The court decided paring and utility knives are tools, not weapons, and therefore not protected by the constitution. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF KNIVES.

The case stemmed from a traffic incident where a man was pulled over and asked "Do you have any weapons?" He said he had a paring knife in his pocket and was arrested for it.

He sued the state claiming carrying a knife was protected under the same amendment was firearms.

The Washington justices were split on the issue with four warning the decision would likely be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court since federal law does recognize knives to be weapons, and therefore protected by the right to bear arms.

Then again, can't we all quote our favorite Australian and remind everyone paring knives aren't really knives...
