A Kennewick driver under the influence managed to hit a tree and a fire hydrant early Saturday morning and then fled the scene of the accident.

Kennewick Police reported on their Facebook page the incident that included the arrest of the driver.

On 11-2-2019 at about 12:10 AM, KPD officers responded to the area of 900 E Chemical Dr for a single vehicle collision in which the driver fled. After a diligent investigation, the driver, Jeffrey Reiman (60), was located and arrested for DUI and Hit-and-Run. KPD responded to, assisted with and investigated a few DUI incidents this evening. As another reminder, please take a taxi, sleep where you are at, call a friend, have a designated driver, use a ride share, walk, or use whatever safe means to arrive safely at home without driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs of any kind.

The accident resulted in a downed tree and a busted fire hydrant. Reiman's car was totaled in the accident. You can check out more details on the accident here
