Flight Student Crashes Small Plane Near Milton-Freewater

A flight student and his teacher crashed a small plane just east of Milton-Freewater just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday February 28th.

The UCSO Patrol Division and Search and Rescue Team immediately searched for the wreck and two men near Government Mountain Road, according to news reports.

The student and instructor, both from Walla Walla University, were not hurt and found walking on a road near the crash site.

There is no official word yet on what caused the plane to crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
