We all know Washington State is one of the most beautiful states in the nation. We have the lush green side West of the Cascades and our dryer climate with lots of sunshine on the Eastern side.
Washington Coast is magnificent
Our coastal waters are magnificent and filled with amazing sea life and, our surrounding mountains... Mt Rainier, Mt Hood, Mt St. Helens, Mt. Baker, and so many more are unparalleled in beauty!
Don't even get me started on how many incredible waterfalls we have to visit.
But did you know Washinton State is 29th on the list for one of the best states to retire?
I know we can get complacent in Washington sometimes. We can begin to get negative about some things that aren't perfect about our state.
The homelessness issue on the west side of the state is a definite problem. And sure, we've got a few more. But all in all...WA State is pretty AWESOME!
In a new study for 2025 it was found that a record 4.2 million Americans will turn 65 years old and 61% of Americans are worried they will not have enough money to retire.
It seems inflation keeps rising and wages don't.
Medicare and Medicaid costs grew by about 8% Annually according to a new report from Seniorly Resource Center.
The good news is, we are all living longer nowadays. Life expectancy has extended to almost 90 years of age.
So where are all these seniors expected to retire?
In WA State these things are making our state favorable:
1. Maximum personal income tax
2. Average temperature
3. Population of 65 plus
4. Average Social Security Payment
5. Doctors available
6. Cost of Living Index
7. Arts and recreation centers
8. Long-term care spending
