You've heard me talk about my adventures growing up with my best friend Joan. Her son Tyler is as much of an adventurer as his mom.

How much training does it take to learn how to Sail?

A couple of years ago, Tyler and his friend Ean bought an old Sailboat, taught themselves to sail, and are now navigating the seas from the San Juan Islands to Mexico and beyond.

Last year they sailed to Alaska!

Potentially, they plan to sail around the world for their next adventure!

This terrifies me but it also intrigues me. I love that they have Starlink Internet now and can have a connection to communicate and post on Instagram so they can take us all on their journey with them.

There are a lot of negatives we can say about technology and the internet, but the one good thing about it is, that it can keep us all connected.

I love the ocean! I love to see it, breathe it, and lay next to it. I grew up in Felton, CA just outside of Santa Cruz,  I feel comfortable living near the sea and often crave it.

However, it honestly scares the heck out of me. As I've mentioned before,I even went on a Scuba diving 'Shark Expedition' and I am still terrified of the ocean.

So much so, I've had invites to "sail around the world" and I didn't do it. Not just because I'm afraid, but also for fear that living on a sailboat without escape for any lengthy duration would be tough.

I think it would be so beautiful though. Maybe someday I'll venture to do something more like this. But, for now, I'll stay on land.

I'll get my thrill watching Ean and Tyler sailing their adventures. Recently, they made the 'big turn' after leaving the strait of Juan De Fuca and are headed South to Mexico now.

The weather looks lovely and so far it's been smoother sailing.

The life span of a whale

This morning they saw their first sight of big wildlife in the form of a whale. However, it was apparently a dead floating whale. (Not quite as appealing.)

I hope it passed away from old age and not ocean pollution or something.

Check out their latest Instagram video and be sure to follow along with them if you want to enjoy this journey right along with them!
