First and foremost, it’s important to lead with confidence.

Believe in your abilities and own your expertise. When you consistently deliver quality work and meet deadlines, your professionalism speaks for itself.

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being reliable, committed, and showing that you add value to the team.

 Cultivate empathy and communication.

I remember lots of years early in my career that were very challenging. I'm grateful I learned some coping skills and was able to work through it. My heart goes out to all who have to work in an environment that is challenging.

It seems to me that when we ourselves choose to rise above it, it dissipates. Don't ever give it power over you. Move forward and do your best despite it.

Don’t be afraid to set boundaries.

In a work environment where people may push limits or take advantage of your time, it’s essential to assert your needs and prioritize your well-being. By doing this, you establish that your time and input are valuable, and others will learn to respect that.

Finally, remember that respect isn’t just earned from others; it’s also something you give yourself.

Stand tall, speak up, and don’t be afraid to own your space in the workplace. By doing so, you create a ripple effect, not just for yourself, but for everyone around you. Respect is earned—and you have everything it takes to claim it.
