Thanksgiving is a time to relax, unwind, and create memories with family and friends.  What better way to do that than by hitting the road for a scenic holiday getaway? Gosh, I love a good road trip!

Best places to travel with family for the Holidays

According to a recent survey by Gunther Motor Company, two Washington destinations are among the top choices for families planning their 2024 Thanksgiving road trips.

North Bend, ranked #115, and Winthrop, at #118, made a strong showing in a list of the most sought-after destinations across the U.S.

I hiked in North Bend and climbed Mt. Si once. It was so beautiful! When I reached the top, just before climbing the tip of 'Haystack" Rock, It was like the birds celebrated my arrival. They let me feed them from my hand! It was spectacular! I guess it's a thing! But no one told me I'd encounter that at the top.

North Bend, is nestled along the Snoqualmie Pass Scenic Byway, and offers breathtaking mountain views and an array of family-friendly trails—perfect for a quiet, nature-filled retreat.

Cozy atmosphere is a must for Holiday travel

Its cozy atmosphere and proximity to outdoor adventures make it a top choice for families looking to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Not far behind, is Winthrop, with its Old West charm, which provides a rustic escape in the Methow Valley.

The snowy peaks and serene vibe make it an ideal setting for families seeking a peaceful, wintery Thanksgiving experience.

With nearby hiking trails, charming shops, and cozy cabins, Winthrop is a destination that perfectly blends adventure with relaxation.

During the holidays, these Washington gems offer the perfect combination of breathtaking scenery, relaxation, and adventure—making them an unforgettable road trip destination for families this holiday season.

So, pack up the car and explore the best of Washington’s natural beauty with a road trip to North Bend or Winthrop.
