Juanita de Luna had a free book shelf in front of her home in Pasco, where kids could "check out" books when libraries were shut down during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

de Luna's Homeowners Association (Madison Park Homeowners Association) wanted her to remove the display from her driveway. They sent her a letter request in August.

Juanita got the association to agree to having a book cabinet. In response, neighbors came together and raised the necessary funds. The cabinet will protect the books from weather elements. And, the bookshelf has a solar light for night-time.

The Children's Reading Foundation donates 200 books to Juanita's FREE neighborhood library every year. This helps keep the assortment fresh.

The "neighborhood library" is located on Palmyra Drive in Pasco.

It turns out that with compromise, achievements can be made. I hope this made your day, as much as it has made mine. Books are a wonderful way to escape for a bit.

I do believe that Pasco is one of the best towns to live in, across America, especially now that Ms. de Luna gets to keep the neighborhood library.

Compromise is key.
