Looks like Pendleton is the next Eastern Washington city to embrace marijuana sales. City council voted, and it passed 6-2. The shops won't be open right away, but businesses can start applying for licenses. Most small businesses in Pendleton pay a $100 license fee, but pot shop owners will have to pay $1,550 for the initial business license application and a $950 renewal fee! Yikes, that's a bit steep, but seeing how well retail marijuana shops have been doing, that will be a small price to pay. Plus, the tax and fee revenues are some of the best benefits towns are seeing from these type of businesses. So, very soon, Pendleton will be part of the retail pot world. Guess Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson have new reasons to go there! ;)

What do you think? Are these businesses a great idea, or are we headed for trouble?
