The WNBA All-Star game will be held in Seattle on July 22nd 2017 and was just announced. The city of Seattle has had a long love affair with the WNBA but has never hosted an All-Star game. Seattle WNBA star Sue Bird is really excited and thinks this helps all Seattle sports, not just the WNBA and women's basketball in news reports. Bird says "we could talk about women's basketball with the Pac-12 tournament and what the Storm has done. It extends to all sports. This is a city that loves sports and deserving of the All-Star Game."

Last year the WNBA All-Star game did not happen because of the Olympics and this is only the second time it is being held on the west coast.
