Several drivers going north on the Pasco side of the Blue Bridge called 9-1-1 Friday morning reporting a Hispanic man in a red sweatshirt and khaki shorts with a shaved head had jumped off the bridge. Pasco police & fire, Franklin County Sheriff deputies, and Kennewick police all scoured the Columbia River Friday between the bridges looking for a body.
Craigslist, Facebook swap pages, the flea market... there are a lot of ways to download a couch you want to get rid of. One local resident found an even better way to get noticed, although he'll be ticketed if caught!
Southbound traffic was completely halted for about an hour Thursday morning when roughly a dozen vehicles were involved in bumper-to-bumper collisions. A red, Tri-Cities Animal Shelter & Control Services officer vehicle was smashed between a mini-van and a cement truck.
This week I blogged about the Blue Bridge flag missing. I thought they took it down because of the steady stream of storms, but we haven't seen it back. I now have an answer!
I understand why it was taken down! The recent dust storms gave it quite a beating. Whether it was weathered or someone just wanted to save it from the storms out of respect, I appreciate that it needed to be removed. But where is it now?
Northbound lanes on the Blue Bridge are closed this morning for repairs and will be through early Nov. 5. Traffic is being directed onto Columbia Drive and then the Cable Bridge. That means in the mornings Columbia Drive and Gum Street are PACKED with cars and semi-trucks trying to get to Pasco...
