It's always amazing when metal gets its due respect from mainstream media. It's even greater when a television legend like Jon Stewart takes a moment to memorialize a late metal icon like GWAR frontman Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus), which is exactly what happened last night (March 25) on 'The Daily Show.'

The South Park Studios is unique in that the team behind the scenes can pump out a new episode in just a matter of days. It used to take weeks to complete just one episode, but advancement in animation technology has drastically cut that time in half. Being able to work under the gun, the team can find themselves finishing episodes just hours before they have to be shipped off to air.
This week, the power went out at South Park Studios and team wasn't able to complete the latest new episode.
Although the Les Claypool created theme song remains the same, the characters of the quiet little mountain town in Colorado have gone through a visual upgrade for the new episode intro.
Last night (Sept. 24), Metallica made a rare television appearance by gracing the set of Comedy Central's 'The Colbert Report.' Promoting their new 3D concert film 'Metallica: Through the Never,' the four horsemen sat down for a hilarious interview with Stephen Colbert before performing 'Master of Puppets' and 'For Whom the Bell Tolls.'
Metallica will be making a rare appearance on Comedy Central's "Colbert Report" tomorrow night to promote their 3D movie, "Through The Never", which hits IMAX theaters this weekend, and regular theaters on October 4th.
