After my post last night about Bob Costas name dropping Pussy Riot during the opening broadcast of the Sochi 2014 Olympics, I realized that I should also give you some sort of context as to why it happened. Videos and photos are flooding the internet via social media showing the graphic scenes as the protests in Istanbul continue between citizens and police. Tear gas and water cannons are being used to uproot the demonstrations and one man decided to step in to keep his friends from being blasted with water while they peacefully sat on the sidewalk. Eventually the vehicle turns it water cannon on the man, shooting him directly in the face from point black range, lifting him off his feet and violently slamming him to the ground.

Police in Turkey are continuing their violent disbanding of the protests in and around Taksim Gezi Park in Istanbul, firing water cannons and deploying tear gas into the crowds leaving numerous injuries and placing dozens under arrest.

Rage Against the Machine guitar virtuoso Tom Morello brings his message of peace wherever he travels, even when he happens to find himself between two dudes arguing outside his concert. After Morello’s Oct. 25 show at the iconic Troubador in Los Angeles, the self-proclaimed “peacemaker” quickly sprung into action after a heated verbal argument started between a bouncer and a concertgoer.

Members of the Westboro Baptist Church decided to picket outside the Foo Fighters concert in Kansas City this past Friday...the band gave the protestors a taste of their own medicine. As part of a counter-protest of the church's extremist views, the band pulled up on a flatbed truck outside the venue and played a live performance of their Country spoof song "Hot Buns".
