14 Year-Old Yakima Boy Dies In Drive-By Shooting
Another senseless tragedy in Yakima.
A Yakima teen is dead after being gunned down near the intersection of King Street and Cornell Avenue.
Police responded to 9-1-1 calls about shots fired and found the boy on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital, but his wounds were too severe and he died.
Yakima Police are investigating whether or not this incident was gang related. It happened around 11:30 in the morning and the police had only a partial description of the getaway vehicle.
That description led the police to a house just a couple of blocks away and close enough to Hoover Elementary to cause the school to go on a lock down. Six people inside the house were detained and questioned but no one was arrested. The suspect or suspects remain at large.
